Bridgeview Marina was originally named Rena Marina. It was established in the early 1960's by a local construction contractor, Don Stonehouse who named it after his daughter Rena. Mr. Stonehouse dredged the first channels and added seawalls. Soon after, Rena Marina was purchased by the Blok-Anderson family and incorporated as Bridgeview Marina in 1971. Later in the early 1980's more dredging was done and our condos were built.
I came across this old postcard on eBay and purchased it so I could use it to create a watercolour rendition. The card had blemishes and markings that didn't matter to me.
Here is the completed watercolour work on textured paper. It is now a 12 x 18 artwork. Click on it to enlarge it.
Here's a Google Earth view of the marina and condos today.
